Camel Trail

Wadebridge

Parks & Walks

The Camel Trail is a traffic free route along a disused railway line, which stretches for twelve miles between Bodmin and Padstow. This flat trail is brilliant for walking, pushchairs, bikes or scooters.

The route follows the Camel Estuary, and goes through areas of woodland before opening up to gives fantastic open views across the estuary and the opportunity to glimpse the sea. It runs through a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation, and is a wonderful place to spot wildlife. Otters, bats, herons, cormorants, kingfishers and egrets are all regularly sighted along the route.

You can join the Camel Trail at Bodmin, Wadebridge or Padstow, and every town has a selection of bike hire shops if you would like to cycle this popular route.

All of the start points have ample parking, toilets and numerous shops and cafes.
