Places to Visit

Lanhydrock house and garden is now closed for winter and will be opening again on 1 March 2022. There is still plenty to explore this winter here at Lanhydrock; including the parkland, woodland and cycle trails. The Park Café and Plant centre remain open.

Lanhydrock, managed by the National Trust, is a spectacular late Victorian country house with formal gardens and a large wooded parkland estate.

Things to explore:

  • house - the house is now open and there is no need to book in advance. There are currently two routes to follow - one around the best rooms of the house and another round the kitchens to get another perspective on this beautiful house.

  • gardens - the beautiful formal gardens surround the house and have a variety of paths to explore. Why not try out the Garden Explorer Trail  - this accessible route round the garden takes around 30 minutes to complete.

  • parkland - there are over 900 acres to explore, and the parkland is free to access. Livestock is roaming in some areas so if you take a dog with you please keep them on a lead. Find a guide to the different walking routes.

  • shops - as well as a gift shop, there is also a plant centre and a second-hand bookshop to rummage through

Access: - there is a 15 minute walk from the car park to the house along a gently sloping path. There is a buggy service which runs from 11am - 5.30pm from reception to the gatehouse.

Parking: - pay and display car park - free for National Trust members

Toilets: - located near the Park Cafe and in the Stables courtyard

Food: - The Park Cafe and Stables tea-room are open, serving drinks, light meals and snacks

Dogs: - dogs on leads are welcome in the courtyard, the wider parkland countryside and the Park Cafe.  They are not permitted in the house or the formal garden.
