Looe Lions Car Boot Sale

Looe

Events

Next dates

Sorry, there are no future dates available

The Looe Lions Car Boot sale will take place every Sunday morning (subject to the weather) throughout the summer months (June to end September).

It is held in two fields at West Wayland next to the camping and caravanning holiday park. The official open hours are 08:00 to 12:00 although many regular sellers arrive from 07:00.

The location is rural with extensive sea views adding to the enjoyment of the occasion.

Sellers are charged a pitch fee of £5. There is no requirement to book a pitch, just turn up. No traders.

There is no entry fee or car parking fee for buyers except on the day of the Looe Lions Carnival Rally when there is a charge of £2 per car which also allows the occupants access to the rally and its many attractions.

Whilst there is no entry fee for buyers please buy a Duck Race ticket or two from us at the entrance (you might win £1,000 if you do) or just put a donation in the bucket as we give our time freely to make money for the charities and good causes that we support..

We have a refreshment van selling bacon butties etc and hot & cold drinks etc. and an ice cream van providing something cooler. There is a Portaloo in the car boot field, please use this rather than the facilities in the nearby camp/caravan park.

You can call the recorded information line on 07399 719998 for up to date information and whether the sale has been cancelled due to the weather.

There are a few changes for 2021 to remain COVID safe.

Field will open at 07:00 for sellers to set up, please don’t arrive before then and set up as we have a new COVID safe layout, and you don’t know what it is! We suggest buyers arrive after 08:00.

The new layout has a one-way system, extra wide walkways, and pitches on one side only. The system will be easier for parking at your pitch as it will be a drive in forward only system, no embarrassment for those who are reversing challenged.

There will be signs and Lions directing you, so please look, listen, and obey.

There will be a portaloo on site, DO NOT use the campsite toilets, do not enter the campsite.

So, a checklist of pretty pleases:

Buyers

  • Please follow the one-way system round the site.
  • Please remember to stay socially distanced.
  • Please use the hand sanitiser and wipes provided.
  • Please dispose of PPE and wipes in bins provided.
  • Carry change so that you can pay with the right money.

Sellers

  • Bring sanitiser and wipes for use on your stall.
  • Consider table signs regarding the handling of goods.
