Sandymouth

Bude

Places to Visit

As the name suggests, Sandymouth is a vast sandy beach to the north of Bude. There is a pebble section of beach and plenty of interesting rock pools before you reach the sand, and the whole thing is backed by dramatic cliffs.

For the explorers - part of an old shipwreck is exposed at low tide, to the south end of the beach near Menachurch Point.

This beach is one of our personal favourites, as although the toilets and cafe are quite a walk back up the hill, the beach is big enough that you could spend all day there and still feel like you haven't explored it all!

At low tide it is possible to walk all the way from Sandymouth to Crooklets along the beach!

Access: - fairly difficult - long walk down uneven surface from the car park, with some steps at the end

Parking: - large National Trust car park

Toilets: - in the car park

Food: - shop and cafe in the car park

Dogs: - dogs are allowed year round
