We’re resurrecting the Throw Jelly Not Balloons (TJNB) campaign ahead of Looe Raft Race to help prevent harmful water balloon litter entering the sea at raft races and regattas.

Throwing seaweed jelly balls at the Seaweed Jelly Bonanza event will be the highlight of this prelude to the raft race when jelly made of agar, a harmless seaweed derivative, is thrown at kayakers in the river. 

The fun event combines educational messages about the issues of marine plastic pollution with fun learning activities. These include a book reading, fishing out harmful plastic in the jelly bath activity, jelly scooping and jelly throwing at kayakers in the river below.
