Prepare for an exciting Introduction to Spinning Using Hand Spindles workshop, hosted by 3 Bags Full! Guided by the talented Eileen McTague, you’ll learn everything you need to know about turning raw fleece into beautiful yarn using a top whorl drop spindle. This is a fantastic way to learn a portable and cost-effective spinning method!

What you'll learn:

• Fleece Preparation: Discover how to prepare fleece and fiber for spinning. Learn the basics of carding and how to get your wool ready for spinning.
• Hand Spindle Spinning: Master the technique of using a top whorl drop spindle to spin your own yarn. It's fun, easy, and a great skill to take your crafting to the next level!
• Hands-On Practice: This workshop is all about learning by doing! You'll get plenty of hands-on practice with guidance from Eileen, making sure you leave with a good grasp of the basics.

Provided:

• Scoured Wool Fiber: We’ll provide all the wool you need to get started.
• Spare Tools: If you don’t have your own tools, don’t worry! We’ll have spare hand carders, top whorl drop spindles, and large knitting needles (10-12 mm) available for use.

What to bring?

• Hand Carders & Top Whorl Drop Spindle: If you have these, please bring them along.
• Large Knitting Needles: Bring a pair if you have them (size 10-12 mm).
