Porthcothan is a sandy beach situated between Newquay and Padstow. It's not usually as busy as some of the more popular beaches nearby, so is a great choice if you are looking for a day away from the crowds.

The beach is backed by grass covered dunes, and there are also some beautiful rock formations.
