Bude Haven Recreation Ground

If you are looking for a fun day out in Bude, the Bude Haven Recreation Ground has lots of activities on offer. The recreation round has been run as a charitable trust since 1923 and aims to provide facilities to local families and holiday makers at an affordable price. The activities you can pick from include crazy golf, putting, tennis, squash, table tennis and bowls.
The crazy golf is a favourite with many generations of our family, and the holes feature various landmarks from within the Bude area including Barrel Rock, The Old Train Station & The Bude Light. With prices starting at £2.50.

Bude Heritage Centre

For a free activity in Bude, why not have a look round the Bude Heritage Centre. The building named The Castle, houses the Heritage Centre, Art Galleries, Café and a shop. Open daily with free entry, the centre is operated by Bude-Stratton Town Council.

Bude Rowing Boats

Based on Bude Canal for over 100 years, Bude Rowing Boats have rowing boats, pedalos and canoes available to hire by he hour. Spend an hour or two exploring the Bude canal and spotting local wildlife as your travel up the canal away from the town.

The Venue

For a wet weather activity in Bude, The Venue has everything you need! As well as a fabulous soft play area, there is a ten pin bowling alley and a cafe. Children of all ages can be kept busy


The Bude Farmers and Craft market is held every Friday 10am – 3pm normally from Good Friday until the end of September.

Pick up a bargain or turn pre-loved items into cash at the Pendeen Car Boot Sale. Car Boot Sales are held every Sunday & Bank Holiday Monday from April to the end of October, Weather permitting.

Bude Artisan Market is a great weekly food hub where you’ll be able to buy produce from local artisan producers situated within a 20 mile radius of Bude. Held every Saturday from 10:00 - 13:30.


There are a great selection of beaches around Bude.

If you are looking for something convenient with easy access and facilities close by, why not try the sandy Summerleaze beach. There is a large car park, toilets and a shop. As well as the sand, Summerleaze Beach contains the tidal Bude Sea Pool. This part natural, part man made pool is topped by high tide every day and is free for the public to use throughout the year At low tide the beach connects to neighbouring Crooklets Beach which has beach huts available for hire.

If you are looking for rockpools, Sandymouth is the place to head to. It has a car park, shop and cafe, but all the facilities are a short walk from the beach.

Widemouth Bay is a huge sany beach and is very popular for surfing.

Parks and Walks

If you are looking for a walk near central Bude, then the Bude Canal allows you to enjoy a level walk along the tow path from the town out into the countryside.

Tamar Lakes are a beautiful spot just outside of Bude, with way-marked walks to follow around the shorelines of the two lakes.
