Tintagel Castle is a historic site situated on the clifftops of North Cornwall. Due to the rugged coastal landscape, there are steep slopes, sheer drops and uneven surfaces which can present a challenge to visitors.
Explore the remains of the 13th-century castle and imagine Richard, Earl of Cornwall’s court. Discover the ruins of the Great Hall, the heart of the castle, where guests were entertained and important business undertaken.
Access: - steep slopes, steps and uneven surfaces. If you are bringing toddlers, English Heritage advise using a baby carrier or baby backpack.
Parking: - there are pay and display car parks in Tintagel village
Toilets: - next to the Visitor Centre and shop, including a disabled toilet and baby changing facilities.
Food: - the Beach Cafe sells traditional Cornish pasties, freshly-baked scones and delicious lunches.
Dogs: - dogs on leads are welcome
Families: - baby changing facilities are next to the Visitor Centre and shop. A children's menu is on offer in the cafe and high chairs are available. The rough terrain and steps mean that pushchairs cannot be used in some areas of the site. There is space available for pushchairs to be stored next to the Visitor Centre.
