Hello I’m Alison Capeling, designer / maker of handmade textiles living on the beautiful North Cornwall coast. 

Created in 2012, Clara is a family online business individually making children’s clothing, accessories, sewing kits and women’s wear. I am passionate about working with natural materials and we are striving to make Clara as eco-friendly as possible.

I love simple design harking back to a time when clothing was treasured, worn and passed down to siblings and friends. Comfort, lovely fabrics and beautifully handmade products are our ethos.

The inspiration behind Clara designs are my four adorable grandchildren ranging from 3 weeks to 5 years and of course the relaxed Cornish lifestyle.
